Darshana Wimukthi is the co-inventor of the Smart Drain technology and serves as Design Officer at Urban Inventors. With over a decade of experience in architectural and interior design, as well as technical detail drawings, he brings precision, creativity, and practical insight to sustainable infrastructure. Darshana played a key role in developing the patented Smart Drain system, contributing both technical expertise and innovative thinking to its design.

Neomal is a Structural Designer who possesses an experience of over 12 years in the industry with a proven track record of providing a value addition in terms of overall design solutions. He was the design lead of one of South Asia’s largest steel warehouse buildings. He has served in prestigious establishments in the capacity of Head of Structural Design and Design Manager. He is a Corporate Member of the Institution of Engineers, Sri Lanka and the Society of Structural Engineers, Sri Lanka and serves on the Executive Committee of the latter and is its Assistant Editor for 2025. He earned a First Class Honours in Civil Engineering from the University of Sydney. He is a recipient of the John Main Prize for Research in Civil Engineering and was a faculty nominee for Engineers Australia Student of the Year 2011 (Sydney Division). He also received the Harvey Dare Prize - Awarded to the most distinguished in Hydrodynamics and Hydraulic Engineering at the final year examination. For Smart Drain, he advises on product design and refinement.
